Whatever issues you face, I will help you to make sense of what is happening and find a path through and out of it. Our sessions will offer you a space in which to be really heard, and to explore your difficulties, in complete confidence.
We will look at how your life is now, why things are happening in the way they are, and where your behaviours and worries stem from.
I will help you to understand why you feel, think and behave the way you do. These often stem from the coping strategies we once devised to get us through life, but which no longer serve us.
Therapy will enable you to understand who you are, what you want and how you can address your problems.
This will allow you to build up your own sense of self, to trust in yourself and face the world with more confidence through this greater self-awareness and self-worth.
This is all achieved in a supportive environment, in which you will not be judged or criticised, but instead regarded in a positive light. The underlying idea (devised from the humanistic theory of Carl Rogers) is that all people are destined to grow and we will tap into that. My approach does not just concentrate on difficulties but also on your potential.
I am an integrative therapist, which means I know many psychotherapy theories and will use those that are best suited to you. We are all unique, so this method ensures that you benefit from the most appropriate expertise and research.
