Counselling and psychotherapy
Do you want to improve the way you live and understand why you live the way you do now?
Whatever issues you face, I can help you to make sense of what is happening and find a path through and out of it. Our sessions will offer you a space in which to be really heard, and to explore your difficulties, in complete confidence.
We will look at how your life is now, why things are happening in the way they are, and where your behaviours and worries stem from.
I will help you to understand why you feel, think and behave the way you do. These often stem from the coping strategies we have devised to get us through life, but which no longer serve us.
So, therapy will enable you to understand who you are, what you want and how you can address your problems. This will allow you to build up your own sense of self, to trust in yourself and face the world with more confidence.
This is all achieved in a supportive environment, in which you will not be judged or criticised, but instead regarded in a positive light. The underlying idea (devised from the humanistic theory of Carl Rogers) is that all people are destined to grow and we will work onnn that basis. My approach does not just concentrate on difficulties but also on your potential.
I am an integrative therapist, which means I know many psychotherapy theories and will use the ones best suited to you. We are all unique, so this method ensures that you benefit from the most suitable expertise and research.
